Route de la pinède, 20260 CALVI

About us

Perched on a hill in the heart of the maquis, with Calvi and the Mediterranean as a backdrop, since 2019, La Villa innovates to amaze its guests, to charm them. Reaching another dimension, venturing into a field that on this rebellious and wild island can surprise from hoteliers, Art hence the name of its gallery "La Villart".

Shyly at first, a few artists were invited to hang their paintings in the lobby, the lounges, the rooms. JonOne was one of the first. A New York artist, in a few years he has made a name for himself in France, becoming the most highly-rated street art representative, whose works at Artcurial and other auction houses achieve the most flamboyant bids.

Nevertheless, when La Villa opened its doors to him for the first time twelve years ago, it was a bold move. "What a privilege to have an open-air gallery, to be able to show my works in this Corsican light, softer, more golden, but also brighter, than that of New York, my city", says JonOne.

Since then, every season, the Harlem painter arrives with his share of paintings.

La Villa's clients totally adhere, buying works, allowing the exhibition to evolve. "The unhooked paintings are replaced by others," says Antoine Pinelli. Thus, one of Marinetti's Doggy John now completes the flotilla of his ducks evolving on the basin. As well as a unique soloshow of the famous artist Hom Nguyen.

And, on the walls of the new suite coexist a monumental painting by JonOne in a cameo of Corsican shades, beige, off-white, light gray and a photo by Revon.

To bring even more dreams and poetry to those who stay here and faithfully return."

And it's not over yet.

La Villart is also about perpetual development, the search for artistic continuity and a certain evolution.

After having brilliantly married art to the hotel business, another aspect has been added to the game: charity, through the organization of openings.

At the same time, the structure intends to make a name for itself in the field and to become a chain of essential galleries by setting up in Monaco, Saint-Tropez and Marrakech.

The artists too, most of them very famous, are more and more numerous.

Development, yes, but not under any conditions: "La Villart" wishes to preserve what has made its reputation: the quality of its structure, in unique locations.
